Alternatives: Wood Lingerie Chests

This is the sixth alternative in the series on finding space saving alternatives to dressers. You can find the first post, which is the entire tip list, here.

Lingerie chests are ideal replacements for dressers because they are much smaller. Not only are they tall but they are also lean which means they take up substantially less floor space.

Like a dresser, you’d simply use a lingerie chest to store your undergarments while your closet works in favor of storing your larger clothing.

But the problem you generally face when you’re looking for a lingerie chest is finding one that’s constructed well. Most are generally made out of composite wood (i.e. particle board, etc.) and that’s fine and dandy if you’re not expecting too much, but if you’re looking for something just a tad bit better, they can be quite difficult to come by at a decent price.

But I have found a few that might be of interest, that you would consider better quality at a decent price. All of them are made out of wood.

Which Lingerie Chests to Consider…

Consider the Hawthorne Lingerie Chest which is made out of solid wood. It’s very conservative on space and is perfect if you’re looking for something really small. Dimensions are 47″H x 16″W x 19″D and it’s available in dark cherry, oak and white.

The Colony Lingerie Chest is another one worth considering. It’s made out of solid pine and is equally kind on space. Dimensions are 42.31″H x 15.75″W x 13.75″D and it comes in american cherry and coffee.

If those do not suit and you want something slightly larger, you may want to think about the Vermont Lingerie Chest. Dimensions are 41.61″H x 20.67″W x 18.9″D and it comes in chestnut.
