The Small Space Race Finalists (2008)

The The Small Space Race Contest had less participants but really great entries. It’s our second big contest here at FFSS and I’m very pleased with the results. Everyone did an excellent job. And you’ll also be glad to know that since we only 10 entries for this contest, all of you are finalists.

Although it is abundantly clear that you’ve all made it to this round, I will list all of you below so visitors will have a chance to view your beautiful entries and so I can brag a bit on the wonderful job that you all did.

The 10 finalists are…

Congratulations to all of you!

Now that you’ve all been chosen the finalists, I’ll be selecting 3 winners out of the group. One winner will receive the grand prize of $300, plus a regular or apartment-sized sofa, a chair and storage ottoman. First place will receive an award of $100 and a sleeper sofa and second place will receive an award of $75 and a chair and a half. These prizes are courtesy of Furniture for Small Spaces and Simplicity Sofas.

Winners will be announced by September 30th and payment will be sent out to you (immediately) right after the announcement.

Note: All contestants have now been emailed and informed as to who the finalists are. If you didn’t get an email from me check your bulk email folder or consider that it was a technical glitch—that I sent it but for some reason it never got to you.

How were Finalists Chosen?

Finalists are generally chosen on the following (below) but since we only had 10 entries this time and everyone did such a fantastic job, the choice was made for me. Everyone was chosen as a finalist!

However to satisfy your curiosity, you still may want to know how I plan to judge the contest in the end…

How much effort they put into their answer concerning how they made the most of their small space.
How much we (as students) could learn from how they decorated their small place.
How unique their small space was… how well they worked with the small space they were given.

In short, this is how all entries are judged. I base it on…

Effort. Education. Creativity. Design.

Anyway, thanks to all contributors who supported the contest and the website! Your contribution made it possible for us to continue offering more contests on this site. It was not in vain! We hope that you will consider entering our upcoming contests. There will be more to come!
