Space Saver Sharp Half Pint Microwave Ovens For Kitchens with Small Counter Space

For two years I went without a microwave and was doing just fine until about five months ago.

I was at the thrift store and I ran across this Sharp Half Pint microwave oven for sale at the Salvation Army for a whopping $10 bucks.

Yep, that did it. That was all she wrote.

When I first walked into the thrift store, I passed by the carts because I had no intention of leaving with anything that I couldn’t carry in my hands.

But when I came across the microwave, I went right back up to the front grabbed a cart as fast as I could.

I have to tell you, I was anxious. All the while I hoped that no one grabbed the microwave before I could.

It’s rare that you run into a situation in which someone snatches what you want right underneath you. But still, it happens. And I wanted the microwave so bad that I just didn’t put it past that happening.

Call me paranoid (which of course I was) but I didn’t want to take any chances.

I knew it was an older model, but I was familiar with the half pint microwaves from the newer models that had been on the market in the past.

When I made my way back to the microwave, I grabbed it as quickly as I could and moved over to the wall to make certain it worked. And it worked perfectly.

And since then, me and my little microwave have had a very good relationship.

About Sharp Half Pint Microwave Ovens…

It’s fits perfectly in the corner of my kitchen counter and saves me loads of space.

At first I was worried that the plates I had may not fit in it, but I figured that was a small price to pay and I could get some fifty cent to one dollar plates at the thrift store if it turned out they were a bit too big.

That wouldn’t have been a problem. But to my disbelief when I slipped them in there, there was even a little bit of room to spare.

I was surprised because I had convinced myself they were too big.

So, it was my lucky day. I found a Sharp Half Pint microwave oven for $10 and how many people could say that? Perhaps they could say they found one but not necessarily one that worked.

And I can relate.

I’ve had my share of thrift store duds so I make certain I test products nowadays and if it’s something like a lamp (if I’m going lamp shopping)… I carry a light bulb with me so I can test those too.

Anyway, they stopped selling the Sharp Half Pint microwave ovens in most places but if you’re like me and you have basic needs and want a small microwave that can get the job done, you can still find some at eBay.

If you bid on one, beware it’s going to be fairly competitive since there are a good portion of people interested in Sharp Half Pint microwave ovens and only a few are up for bid at a time.

If you lose out the first time though, don’t get discouraged… keep checking back. There seem to be enough around and up for bid, and in time you’ll get lucky enough to get one.

The bulkier half pint carousels generally go for a cheaper price because they they’re a bit larger and the shape is less appealing. But don’t be fooled by photos, they are quite small. However, the newer models are definitely a step up in looks, style, and probably even space.

In my opinion, they’re not worth the extra money in regards to space, but if you’re buying one because you prefer how it looks in comparison to the older model, then it is worth the extra cash.
