Small Space Questions: Refrigerator Side Shelf
I have a very narrow space between my fridge and cabinet (4 to 5 inches wide) that is unused and I would like to find a roll-out tall shelf system that could go there.I would put my spices on it, so it can be shorter shelves in addition to normal sized ones. It can be anywhere from 12 to 16 inches deep. Any ideas?

Hi Kate,
I did a thorough check for you. The good news is they have them. The bad news is that, sadly, I couldn’t find one that met your size requirements. That is unless, I’ve misunderstood your needs. Just in case, I’ll link you up with them.
Here are the few that I found (and maybe you already came across these yourself)…
Pantry – Rolling
Six-Shelf Pantry Rack
I did find a similar item, but I suspect you might not be completely happy with it. It’s a refrigerator rack which hangs on the side of your refrigerator. Perhaps even if you don’t like it altogether, you could use it until you come across something better?
If so… you can check it out here…
I also tried thinking outside of the box a bit as well. For instance, almost any type of cart that’s thin and tall enough would’ve work, such as…
- Laundry Carts
- Book Cases that could’ve had caster wheels added onto them
- Storage Carts
- Etageres/Bathroom Carts
…but it seemed that all of them ended up too wide as well.
If you really want something like this and you’re not in too much of a hurry to get it, I’ve now started a forum in which people in situations like yours vote on whether you want me to start a freelance market in which you can request to have a piece custom-made at an affordable price. I’ll start out by making sure there’s a high enough demand from visitors and then if there is I will work on getting carpenters, furniture makers, etc. that enjoy doing things like this in their spare time that can make these pieces of furniture at your request.
I’m sorry I couldn’t be of further help to you, but hopefully the idea I have might eventually help you out. If not, then at least you’ll know it’s there if something else comes up.
