Small Homes: Antonia’s Dreamy Bedchamber
I live in a small studio apartment and itâs all about dividing up the space and using what I already have to make it work. To have my bedroom be a separate space, I used an open bookshelf coming off the wall and sheer curtains from the ceiling that I can leave open or close off my bed from the rest of the room.
The bookshelf and the curtains make an obvious division of the space but do not cut out my only source of natural light from my balcony. My bedroom is the best because even though I donât have a lot of space to work with, it looks light, airy, and fabulous!

Highlights of Antonia’s Room
-
Create a bedroom and divide up space with dreamy sheers.
Floor dividers arenât the only way you can divide up space. Hanging room dividers are another popular and affordable way to partition off a room. If youâre in need of a classy way to section off space and create your own bedroom, then follow in Antoniaâs footsteps.Antonia created her own dreamy romantic setting by purchasing curtain tracks (the F-Track pre-packaged kit at the bottom of the page) from Konnect International. And she got the curtain sheers from a local Annaâs Linens store.
-
Add a small bedside stand for miscellaneous items.
To add more detail and appeal to the look and feel of her room, she also purchased a bedside stand which holds miscellaneous books. This is a great idea if you want to do the same thing. Put the book(s) youâre currently reading on the stand for an easy grab each night. So, when you want to sit back, relax and jump into a world of words theyâll only be a reach away.Behind the sheers youâll also notice she created even more division by using a bookcase. It also holds miscellaneous items, but we canât ignore that one of the main reasons her bedchamber looks so beautiful and romantic is simply because everything is in white (bookcase, bedside stand and sheers), and all have a minimalist design.

Add intimate lighting.
For intimacy Antonia was gracious enough to also let me know where she got the lamps that seem to create an intimate atmosphere. Itâs almost a trick of the eye, because from far away they appear to be hanging or could even be thought of as floor lamps but in truth they are tabletop lamps that she purchased from Ikea. She used her bookcase behind the sheers to place the lamps on. She placed them in the opposite direction of the other items and then used those items to hide the base of the lamps. Isnât that a wonderful idea or what?
Antonia… youâve outdone yourself. Your room is beautiful and we adore it! Thank you so much for your kindness in sharing what youâve done so we could follow in your footsteps!
