Good Ideas for Small Spaces

For two years I went without a microwave and was doing just fine until about five months ago. I was at the thrift store and I ran across this Sharp Half Pint microwave oven for sale at the Salvation Army for a whopping $10 bucks. Yep, that did it. That was all she wrote.

Well, like always, I try to find ways to cut down on redundancy. This time I’m using my CD case covers to do it. This is a simple tip. One in which I’m sure I’m not the first person to think of. But just in case you’re one of those people who haven’t thought about it, you might like the idea of using extra CD cases as coasters.

Recently I had to move due to my mom coming down this way. Since we decided to room together it meant a completely different apartment. That in turn also meant a different room for me. A much smaller room in the end. Knowing that I understood I was going to have to make some sacrifices. About 4 or 5 pieces of furniture and that was going to be it for me.

Okay, I’m cheap. I admit it. And I’m always looking for some way to get the same results with things I have stashed around the house. Why not, right? I mean it saves me space, money and I’m able to put something to good use that has been sitting around for awhile. In this case, it’s a stereo system that has been the object of my interest.

Sometimes I don’t follow the rules. Like everyone else I just make them up as I go along. It’s called personal preference or gut instinct. Sometimes you just know the ideas you have in mind will be better than following any specific format. To elaborate, let me tell you a little story about an experience I had at a thrift store…
