Small Homes: Charmaine’s Asian-French Fusion

My small bedroom is a winner because of its uncluttered look, and unique fusion of French and Asian themes. My walls were antiqued by me in a soft buttery toffee color with white glaze, making the occupant feel they are in the bedroom of chateau. This room is inviting and by the addition of a gel fuel French style fireplace, the warmth of the room is even more enhanced. It has the beauty of a very special place to be even though it is small.

Highlights of Charmaine’s Room

Charmaine has an Asian-French style that we could all learn to love. What makes it this way? Well, let’s find out by talking about it…
Put up a hanging lamp.
You’ve heard me mention this one before, but again this goes to show you that the use of a hanging lamp can not only save you space but it can add a certain romance and charm to your room.
Add a fireplace for ambiance and romance.
To further contribute to a romantic look and feel, don’t overlook the fact that you can add a fireplace to your bedroom like Charmaine has. And as you know, fireplaces are easy to come by these days since you no longer have to rely on having them built into a wall.

Can you imagine how beautiful having a fire in the fireplace must look during winter months? But of course, you can even accommodate yourself with one of these year-round since electric fireplaces make this a possibility.
Add a low-level lamp.
Lamps don’t have to be placed on high tables. Nor do they have to sit directly on a floor like floor lamps. How about something in between like Charmaine’s come up with. A simple stool will do. Then place the lamp on it, plug it in and voilaâ��you’ve added more beauty and style to your room.
Place a nice collection of decorative pillows on the floor.
Check out the pillows on Charmaine’s floor. Now I could be wrong, but if so then this mistake is still worth mentioning. Assuming the pillows are purposely placed on the floor, rather than accidentally, then this is a fantastic idea to follow. Get yourself some decorative pillows, then stash them away in some place like the corner of your room or foot of your bed. You’ll find it can do wonders for adding style, comfort and coziness. This I really like!
