Small Homes: Gabriella’s Feng Shui Bagua
I think my small bedroom is the best because it is the perfect place for dreaming whether I am awake or asleep. It is decorated with all the things that make me happy, and to be quite honest, it is where I keep most of my possessions that I use on a daily or nightly basis.
I share this tiny room with my boyfriend in all its tropically influenced bliss. The decor was designed using Feng Shui principles, but there is a lot more to be done to make it even better, and more âFeng Shuiâ. Some of these things include more organization and less clutter. Welcome to my Bagua⦠I hope you like it!

Highlights of Gabriellaâs Room
-
Decorate doors not just walls.
Gabriella has done an outstanding job decorating her small bedroom. I love everything sheâs done to her room, but again I must get down to specifics. Iâll name a few great things sheâs done, but there are clearly plenty of other things to learn from that I donât mention. One very clever thing that stands out is how she not only hangs photos on her walls to bring out her room but also on the doors. Not to mention, she also decorates the door knobs. Is that not ingenious? As obvious as it may seem to a few other creatively inclined people out there… I never wouldâve thought of that. How about you?
-
Get creative with foliage.
Can I say Iâm in love with the little foliage area? Itâs so simple, but it draws my eyes to it every time. And where she placed the ceramic on the wall to bring it out really looks fabulous. And did you see the cool little monkey hanging from the branch? I have to say that is by far one of my favorite ideas of all. Donât get me wrong. Iâm not down-playing all of the other areas of her room where she clearly did a spectacular job… but the moment I saw that monkey, it was all over for me. I couldnât get over how clever that was and how good it looked.

Decorate your lamps.
She also did the same thing with the lamp behind her bed. These are the small details which make her room so gorgeous. Iâm sure youâll have no trouble agreeing with me when I say, “Yes, we absolutely love your Bagua, Gabriella. Thank you so much for sending in photos of your beautiful room!”
Lastly, my focus remained on the bright and lively colors of her pillows and bedspread. The vibrant colors really brought the room out. But also pay careful attention to the wood trim along her wall. In one of her photos youâll notice that she decorated it.
