The bed was literally inside a wall. Having remembered that, I thought it would be a cool idea to offer some woodworking plans on those for anyone who’s interested.

Sadly, what I found was small, but they are enough to get by if you’re good with home improvement projects.

You will have to have a room that’s big enough because you do actually have to add to the wall in order to create the bed behind one. I know, it sounds contradictory, but you’ll know what I mean when you check out the information on building one.

If you’re unsure of the difference, generally a dresser is nearly twice as wide as a chest of drawers and is substantially lower. It is often also either accompanied by a mirror or a hutch.

Chest of drawers come in various sizes and the idea of course is that you should first figure out where you’d like to place it in a room and then decide the dimension requirements needed for it to fit.

You can even curb down on size by also choosing a corner chest of drawers. However, keep in mind there aren’t too many of those around at the moment and most are fairly costly, so your selection is limited.

What Features Should You Look For?

The truth is if you’ve ever searched for small chests of drawers, you’ll find that most don’t vary much in size. Like all other alternatives, simply rely heavily on your closet to take care of larger clothing and then use a nightstand to store lighter clothing articles, such as undergarments.

The great thing about nightstands with storage drawers is they are dual purpose–not only allowing you access to storage space, but also offering you the ability to display memorabilia, lamps and alarms clocks for a nice decorative look and feel.

You can think of this particular kind of nightstand (i.e. storage) as a mini chest of drawers or dresser: big enough to store what’s needed but small enough to be space-conservative.
