Creative Headboard Ideas: Making a Creative Headboard

If you have a small room and you want some really inventive ways to create headboards. The good news is I just came across some great DIY ideas on how to do just that.

You get step-by-step instructions and these are some pretty awesome headboards.

Some are what you would consider fairly cheap at that.

And if you’re not satisfied with those ideas, keep in mind that if you find a trellis that’s the right size, you could easily turn it into a headboard as well.

Also if you want to get really inventive, don’t rule out corrugated cardboard. You can make all kinds of furniture out of it, so there’s probably no reason you couldn’t use it to make a headboard. It’s pretty sturdy. Although, I haven’t tried this… I’m pretty sure it’s not impossible to make a nice cheap headboard from cardboard.

You may need to glue several pieces together to make it thick and strong, but if you could find these pieces locally for free then this would be a cost-effective solution to creating a beautiful headboard for your room.

Additional ideas you could also consider come from HGTV, which include: fabric canopy headboards, draped headboards and more.

So, out of all of these… which do I like the most?

I have to say my favorites are the picket-fence headboard and the canopy headboard at Getting Ahead with Your Headboard. Those two just look really gorgeous to me. But honestly, all are exceptional for different reasons.
